Team:

VP Motion Design: Grant Okita

Director: Ryan Sage

Creative Director: Ryan Levitus

Motion Designer: Jacob Vouniozos

Challenges:

Designing a look that helped bridge the branding footage with the motion design while creating a way to showcase the exciting performances of the Live event.

Concept Development:

Colors and a pair of Nine Lights lit up the stage pulsing to the sound of the music. We see the letter B framing shots as light particles built on the shape. Neon type throughout the spot change colors and are driven by the pace of the music.

Technical Breakdown:

We built the the opening and end title Logo in After effects. Using a few different lighting techniques and plugins to create a concert atmosphere that where also used in treating the footage throughout the spot.  A few 3D neon tubes framed the video panels that where later composited in after effects giving us flexibility when edits changed or needed adjusting. This spot had a great track to animate the lights and give the whole spot a nice pacing.

Key Takeaways:

Flexibility is key when working on spots like these, After Effects gave us the ability to adjust timings and update new shots as different promos where cut.
